Institutional Leader.

Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Malik is a distinguished sociologist and academic administrator with over three decades of experience in teaching, research, and institutional leadership. Currently serving as Vice Chancellor of Rajendra University (A State Public University), Balangir, Odisha, he brings a legacy of transformative academic governance.

Earlier, he served as Professor of Sociology and held several key administrative positions at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow — a Central University of India — including Dean of the Ambedkar School of Social Sciences, Director of the Dr. Ambedkar Studies Centre, Chairperson of the Department of Sociology, Proctor, and Chairman of the Equal Opportunity Cell.

His scholarly work spans Environmental Sociology, Dalit and Ambedkar Studies, Social Exclusion, Poverty, and the Sociology of Education. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi — one of India's most prestigious academic institutions.

Prof. Malik has actively contributed to national academic governance through the UGC and NAAC, coordinating peer assessment teams across institutions in nine states. His published work appears in journals such as Economic and Political Weekly, Social Change, and Contemporary Voice of Dalit. He has authored 2 books, supervised 12 PhD theses awarded with 21 M.Phil. degrees, presented 148 academic papers, and engaged with international platforms across 6 countries including Czech Technical University (Prague), Madrid, and Vienna.
